The Manitoba RCMP says it was able to successfully rescue a hiker on the Mantario Trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park.
The Mounties were initially contacted around 5:30 Monday afternoon about a 40 year woman in medical distress.
A STARS rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but was unable to get to the hiker because of the rugged terrain.
Police were able to deploy a smaller helicopter and were able to rescue the woman around 9:30 Tuesday morning.
She was flown to Lac Du Bonnet for medical treatment.
