Reaction to Fluoride By-election

A Dryden Dentist believes this week’s by-election will be the end of the
fluoride debate unless the political and social climate changes.
Dr. Keith Eichel is disappointed but not surprised that residents voted
against fluoridated drinking water.
Eichel says if there is any suggestion that fluoride may be linked with
disease, then people can become fearful.
Eichel adds fluoride is both safe and effective but notes the people of
Dryden have made their decision.
He suggests education and promotion of proper dental care may be
expanded with fluoride no longer in the picture.
