The Director of Education for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is defending the name ‘Open Roads’ School.
A petition calling for a name change is circulating the Dryden area.
Jack McMaster believes the name is a perfect choice.
McMaster says the open concept of the school is one big reason for the name.
McMaster adds the school has wireless capabilities and instantaneous access to the internet and the world.
He notes a separate Committee spent a great deal of time and energy to come up with the name and that Trustees agreed it was a perfect fit.
