Red Cross Looking To Take Advantage Of Social Media

During disasters like floods and snowstorms, social media is full of people posting pictures and information about what they’re seeing
The Canadian Red Cross is looking to put some of those posts to work for them.
Dan Bedell says social media-savvy people can be an asset in getting the word out, as long as they have the correct info on road closures, cancellations, evacuation routes and more.
Bedell stresses people on social media can help save lives.
He adds new technology being developed in Canada would help maximize the usefulness of all that information.
