The new OPP Billing Model will have a positive impact on Red Lake.
The municipality has been one of the highest per household cost payers in the province.
Red Lake Mayor Phil Vinet says a household pays around 11 hundred dollars right now.
Vinet says the values will change, it will no longer be referred to OPP costs in terms of households, it will be referred to in terms of property.
He says that the base number right now is $203 for the base service, plus the calls per service.
He adds that it’s fair to say that the average property cost will be around $400.
