Red Lake Resident Recognized

A well deserved accolade that’s GOOD NEWS for a Northwestern Ontario resident.

A teacher in Red Lake, Tom Doherty, has received the King Charles III Coronation Medal!! That’s GOOD NEWS!

The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to a particular province, territory, region, or community in Canada or attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.

Tom’s latest honor tops a long list of previous acknowledgements of merit. In his past 40 plus years of teaching Doherty has been awarded the Lakehead University’s Distinguished Alumni Award, the Kenora CDSB Director’s Award of Excellence, Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence, OTIP Elementary Teacher of the Year and the Dairy Farmers of Canada Teacher Nutrition Award.

Amazing accomplishments!! Thank you Tom for your over 40 years of education excellence in Northwestern Ontario!

Tom Doherty is…….GOOD NEWS!!
