Dryden is taking steps to improve safety around St. Joseph’s School.
The Catholic School has been working with City staff for several months on a strategy to better protect students in the highly congested area.
Council has approved the creation of a Maximum Speed School Zone from Colonization Avenue to 97.5 metres west of the west leg of Park Crescent along Parkdale Road effective September 1st.
A reduced speed limit of 40-kilometres an hour within that zone will be enforced between 8am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday from September 1st to June 30th of each year when signals are flashing.
