The Province has found $191 million for Nursing Homes to hire additional staff, an announcement that the Kenora District Homes for the Aged has been waiting for.
Administrator Kevin Queen says although the allocation of new nurses isn’t known at this time, he notes there is a shortage across the board.
Queen says more staff is defiantly needed in Dryden, Red Lake and Kenora.
The Liberal Government has also announced strict new operating standards.
Queen says he has no problem with the Grits keeping a close eye on things, as long as the funding is flowing.
