Regional Airline Helps Animals Find A Home

A regional partnership to help cats and dogs find new homes in southern Ontario is continuing.

North Star Air is giving the Ontario SPCA $30,000 so they can keep transporting animals from northern First Nations.

5 cats and 13 dogs and puppies were flown to Thunder Bay from Big Trout Lake Tuesday.

The regional airline says remote Indigenous communities face challenges including limited access to veterinarians as well as suitable homes willing to adopt animals.

The animals will be taken in by the Peterborough Humane Society to find new homes.
