The Kenora District Municipal Association has agreed in principal to back the
creation of a new economic development agency for the region.
A majority of area Mayors and Councilors supported the Northwestern
Ontario Municipal Association resolution at the annual KDMA Conference on
the weekend.
NOMA Spokesperson Ian Angus says final approval to create the body
will come in April.

The body will provide a single voice for the Northwest and identify
economic opportunities to pursue.
