The drop out rate in the Keewatin-Patricia School District is improving
slowly.
Of the 781 students who started Grade nine in 2001, 22 transferred
within the Board, 78 moved to another school and 120 dropped out for
employment or unknown reasons.
The drop out rate at Queen Elizabeth was over 36% with
non-resident students and Superintendent Wendy Parkin says that figure is a
concern.
Parkin says the Board will continue to take a close look at each
communtity and develop programs to help kids stay in school.
