Confederation College’s new BioEnergy Learning and Research Centre in Thunder Bay is now up and running.
The partnership with Ontario Power Generation offers students training and applied research opportunities related to biomass energy.
College President Jim Madder says there’s also a financial benefit to the project.
Madder says the centre will save the college about $250,000 a year.
The centre features biomass boilers, fuel handling and heating systems.
