Regional Tim Horton Camp Opening This Month

The first regional Tim Hortons Children’s Camp will be opening its doors later this month near the Ontario-Manitoba boundary.

The camp is located in Manitoba in Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Dave Newnham is the executive director of the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation and says they have built both bunkhouses and yurts for the campers.

Newnham says they can house up to 256 kids and they are offering several leadership and wilderness programming.

Newnham notes the whole facility cost $19-million to build and is the first new Tim Horton’s Camp since 2002.

It will be used on a year-round basis and is targeted to kids living in low income families.

The first campers will arrive on June 24th, with grand opening ceremonies taking place July 5th.
