The number of registered organ donors in Dryden is on the rise!
President of the Trillium Gift of Life Network Ronnie Gavsie says 41% of people have signed up, which is up from 40% this time last year. While 1% may not seem like a huge jump, Gavsie says it takes a lot to move up.
Meanwhile, Confederation College has a page on www.beadonor.ca, and Gavsie says that helps them spread the word.
Northern Ontario has the highest rates of registration in the province, with some communities over the 50% mark.
In comparison, Woodbridge, Concord and Scarborough are the only communities with registration rates below 10%.
Ontario as a whole has a registration rate of 23%, which is well below the United States at 45%.
