Remembering Elder Frank Beardy

A well known aboriginal leader from the region has died.
Frank Beardy passed away Thursday evening at the age of 63, after battling a long-time illness.
Beardy is recognized for devoting his life to improving the lives of First Nations, helping in the development of such initiatives as Wawatay Native Communications Society, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund.
