Renovations to Red Lake Shelter *CALL CLIP

Renovations to the New Starts for Women Shelter are complete and the
Red Lake centre is now a safer place for those looking to escape violent
situations.
Executive Director Kathy Latell says the 10-bed shelter is now a more
secure and comfortable place to stay thanks to $86,000 in Federal funds.

On average, 160 women and 223 children use the services each year and
1,500 crisis calls are received annually.
