The Department of Indian Affairs is being asked to increase Education funding for Aboriginal children living in the Sioux Lookout area.
The District Education Planning Committee says 85% of students in First Nation Schools, from grades 2-8 are two or more years behind academically.
The group says most schools do not have Special Education teachers or support staff and Literacy levels are well below average.
