A new group is being formed to fill the void caused by the O.S.P.C.A.’s decision to fold its operations in Kenora and Dryden.
Rescue North is planning to meet after Christmas to elect a board of directors, with representation from Kenora, Dryden and Fort Frances.
The board is expected to include members from the O.P.P., Treaty Three Police, the Dryden Police, a couple of local doctors, as well as business people and other professionals.
Rescue North says its goal is a smooth transition from the O.S.P.C.A. operations in the region.
The O.S.P.C.A. is planning to shut down its operations in Kenora and Dryden by the end of January.
