Residents Gather To Discuss Opposition To Barclay Fire Hall Closure

A packed house at the Ukrainian Hall of people against the closure of the Barclay Fire Hall.

Concerned citizens gathered to talk about the negative effects of the closure and to discuss possible solutions.

Organizer Alan Wice mentions a major problem with the motion is that many people who live out in Dryden east will see exponential increases to their insurance costs, or may lose fire coverage completely.

Other concerns surrounded lack of nearby fire service, not only for area residents, but also for potential highway accidents.

Wice also hopes even more people will be at the Centre at 6:30pm on Tuesday May 9th for their presentation to council.
