Restricted Fire Zone in Fort Frances Area

It may seem hard to believe but a Restricted Fire Zone is in effect
in the Fort Frances District.
Outdoor burning is banned in the Lake Despair area, about
30-kilometres northwest of Fort Frances.
A jack pine budworm infestation that occurred in the area between 2005
and 2007 has increased the risk of major forest fires.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the ban is in effect to
protect residents, cottage owners and resource users.
