The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has suspended the fish import licence of Costco after it determined adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented by the company on a consistent basis.
The company may not import fish products into Canada while its import licence is suspended.
The suspension will not be lifted until Costco has fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the Food Inspection Agency is fully confident in the company’s ability to effectively manage the risks to food safety.
