Restructuring At Northwest LHIN

The Northwest Local Health Integration Network is working on a new health services strategy for the area.

The agency is responsible for planning, funding and integrating the region’s health care services.

Director of Health Systems Jessica Logozzo says the re-brand aligns with the province’s ‘Patients First’ strategy.

Logozzo says based on several priorities, they are working on several initiatives to advance the LHIN’s expanded mandate.

She stresses the main focus is putting patients at the centre of the plan and delivering care responsive to their needs.

Logozzo says the goal is to create an integrated health care system that includes primary care, mental health, hospitals, public health and other providers.

She notes they have already been headed down this path for the past five years.

Logozzo says they’re also working on a transition of Community Care Access Centres to the LHIN which will take place in late June.
