After an in depth discussion at last nights special meeting, council is set to pass the resurfacing project for Idlywild Road.
Oakwood and Frog Creek Road were also on the agenda for resurfacing consideration, however, after judging the condition of all three roads – council decided Idlywild was in desperate need of a facelift.
After two separate incidents this year, Operations and Facilities Manager, Doug Brown, stated the road also needs its watermain replaced – But funding for the $1.4 million dollar project isn’t available.
Federal Gas tax will help fund the $23,000 dollar resurfacing project.
Council will begin to create a plan to fund the watermain replacement project – however, their main concern right now is 5th Street – which Brown says is in the worst shape of them all.
