Revamped Election Process

Grand Council Treaty #3 has decided to use a new process to elect its next Grand Chief.
Members have agreed to use a traditional selection process that allows eligible citizitens to support a candidate of their choice at a public meeting.
Executive Director Reid Thompson says usually the Grand Chief is picked by the Cheifs and Band Councillors.
The term of current Grand Chief Leon Jourdain expires later this year and elections will likely take place in October.
