The tourism season has picked up momentum thanks in part

to the warmer weather this season.

The Northern Ontario Outfitter’s Association says this

year’s season can be described as a mixed bag.

Executive Director Doug Reynolds says some areas of the

industry are experiencing a slump, while others are doing

fairly well.

High gas prices, waiting times at the border, and the US

dollar is being blamed for declining interest in medium

market tourist resorts.
