Richard Robinson

After a courageous battle with cancer Richard passed away peacefully at Dryden Regional Health Center October 20th with his loving family by his side.

Richard was born June 17 1927, in Minnitaki, Ontario. He moved to Montreal in his teens and joined the Merchant Marines. At the end of his service he returned to Montreal were he met his wife Rosemary and moved to Dryden in 1958.
Richard worked as a Journeyman Carpenter for more than 40 years with Carpenters and Joiners of America Local Union 1669.

Richard is survived by his wife Rosemary Robinson, daughter Charlene Hough (Richard) of Coldwater Ontario, Sandra Ostman (Wally) of Dryden Ontario and Darlene Fuerst of Dryden Ontario. Grandchildren; Kyle, Sonny and Karrah Ostman, Kelsey and Egon Fuerst. Also survived by brother Neil Robinson (Jackie) of Regina, Saskatchewan, and not to be overlooked his faithful black lab companion Memphis.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stuart and Esther Robinson, sisters Viola Higgins, and Martha Rudolph; brothers; Bruce, Vincent, Melvin, Brian, and Jimmy Robinson.

Richard had a great love for hunting, fishing, farming and family. His fondest memories included annual hunting trips in his early years with his brothers, which evolved into a tradition of fishing and hunting and camping trips with his daughters and especially his grandson Sonny. He was a strong and proud man and seldom let any hardship get the best of him. He was a fighter right to the very end.

There will be no Visitation as cremation has taken place. The family invites you to join them in A Celebration of Life at the Dryden Community Funeral Home on Thursday October 24th, 2013 at 1 pm with Pastor Velma Henderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers if friends so desire donations can be made to DRHC Palliative Room Refurbishing Fund thru The Dryden Community Funeral Home 249 Grand Trunk Avenue Dryden, ON P8N 2X3.
