Richard Wagamese Promoting Latest Book

A First Nations author from northwestern Ontario continues to tour Canada to promote his book “Indian Horse”.
Richard Wagamese was born in Wabasseemoong First Nation.
The 59-year-old was taken from his family in Northwestern Ontario by the Children’s Aid Society as a toddler and was later adopted by a family in southern Ontario.
Wagamese says he didn’t expect his novel to resonate with high school students.
He has a grade 9 education yet has gone on to write 14 books.
Wagamese says he brings something of himself to all of his stories.
He notes his writings help people learn more about healing and the residential school system.
