It was a perfect weekend for a ride and it ended up being a perfect weekend for the Alzheimer’s Society of Kenora/Rainy River.
Executive Director Rossana Tomashowski says more than $30,000 was raised at the Annual Ride for Memories and Poker Derby.
She notes that amount will be higher as they are still counting.
Tomashowski says they had about 80 bikes taking part and around 100 people at their steak dinner in Sioux Lookout.
The top pledge earners were Robert Gordon, Jim Harty Jr. and Kevin JJ Kennedy raising over $18,000 collectively.
The best poker hand was won by Roger Metail.
Tomashowski stresses the event continues to get bigger and better.
She says all money raised goes towards local programming and services for families, caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Riders and pledge earners throughout the 16 years have raised over $480,000.
She thanks all riders, sponsors and pledge earners for their support.
