Both the federal and Ontario governments are blaming each other for the lack of progress in the proposed Ring of Fire mining development.
The feds are saying Ontario isn’t doing its part to make it a priority which infuriates provincial Mines Minister Michael Gravelle.
Gravelle says Feds are making excuses about their lack of action.
He stresses the province has already made major commitments to the project and is still waiting for the feds to come on board.
Gravelle is challenging the federal government to match their $1-billion commitment for infrastructure in the Ring of Fire.
In the House of Commons the federal Natural Resources Minister suggested the Wynne Government hasn’t put “one red cent” into the giant mining development.
Greg Rickford also suggested the Ring of Fire Development Corporation is not a policy option for the federal government in its current form.
