Rita McCaffrey

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Rita McCaffrey on the early morning of Friday, February 24th at Princess Court Home in Dryden. Rita was born in Fort William on July 20, 1924 and received her early education in Keewatin, ON. After spending a few years in Dryden she moved back to Fort William in 1950. Rita resided there until 1990 when she retired from Northern Engineering and returned to Dryden. Rita is survived by her sisters Winnie MacKinnon and Dot Bryck, sister-in-law Grace McCaffrey, brother-in-law Bill Bryck and many special nieces and nephews of whom she was very proud. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Basil, Jim and Jerry and sisters Leonore and Myrtle. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Luigi Filippini on Monday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Dryden. Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery. Prayers will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel. Should friends desire donations to the Princess Court Elevator Fund may be made through the Stevens Funeral Homes “Moffat Chapel” P.O. Box 412, Dryden P8N 2Z1.
