Big Trout Lake Band Councillor Cecelia Begg has been
getting a number of high profile visitors during her stay
at the Kenora Jail.
This week, Kenora MP Roger Valley and Churchill member
of parliment, Tina Keeper dropped in to visit the 58 year
old Great Grandmother.
She’s been incarcerated at the local jail for the past
three weeks.
Valley says he wants all levels of government to work
together to assist the Big Trout Lake First Nation, which
has been left without any leadership.

The Band Chief and five councillors, including Begg were
jailed for contempt of court, for not allowing the mining
company Platinex to continue exploration on the band’s
