Rogue Deer Causing Problems

Forget a nuisance bear problem, nuisance deer reports have become the
norm in the Dryden area this Fall.
The City and Ministry of Natural Resources have fielded numerous calls
from frustrated homeowners sick and tired of having their gardens destroyed
by deer.
MNR Area Supervisor Matthew Benson says it’s no surprise as the deer
population has increased the last couple of years due to mild winters.
Benson notes there’s no practical, cost-efficent way to keep deer away,
but notes he’s always looking for effective practises from land owners.
City officials say some people are feeding the deer voluntarily which
has contributed to the increase in numbers.
