It was a night full of great music and a fun atmosphere as local talent came together for the 3rd annual Rotary Center Stage proudly sponsord by CKDR 92.7, held over at the Dryden Agricultural Society Multiplex Saturday Night!
Over 400 people packed the place to see the talent shine and vie for over 1500 dollars in prize money!
After 2 rounds of acts, it was Dryden’s Charity Alverson who came out on top with a rockin rendition of Kelly Clarkson’s “Behind These Hazel Eyes.” A rendition that made her 500 bucks richer, thanks to Weyerhauser!
This years second place honors go to Suzanne Favot, who beautifully sang one of Canadian artist Sarah McLaughlan’s biggest hits, “Angel!” Soothing and touching, her rendition, thanks to Royal Bank, won her 300 dollars for 2nd!
And rounding out the standings, in 3rd this year, Dryden’s Serena Van Vliet with a vocal testing tune by Christina Aguilera, The Voice Within! Showing off her vocal ability, landed her in the 3rd spot with a prize from Regional Logging, for $200!

Audience Response – The King may not be with us, but his soul sure was and it pumped out of the chest of audience response winner Elvis Impersonator ROCKY RIVERS!
Contestant’s Choice – Erik Bleich! Who, along with his trusty guitar, rocked the stage with Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb. Erik also nabbed a couple more awards for his song, Most Original and People’s Choice 2nd Set!
People’s Choice 1st Set – Shy-Anne Hovorka! Proving heartbreak cant keep you down, she belted “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor!
