An inexperienced Dryden GM Ice Dogs team stumbled out of the gate at the Dudley Hewitt Cup in Fort Frances Tuesday.
The Dogs were overwhelmed 8-1 by the Soo Thunderbirds.
The Thunderbirds jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Matt Houston scored a powerplay goal.
Dryden GM was outshot 35-23.
The Dogs will try and rebound Wednesday at 2:00 against Toronto.
