The Sachigo Lake First Nation in northwestern Ontario has issued an eviction notice to the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Chief of the remote community, Alvin Beardy says they are upset that the MNR built a water testing facility on the Sachigo River, without the band’s consent.

Beardy says this is just the latest in an on-going battle with the provincial government over land rights and consultation with aboriginal communities.
