Dryden’s Sam Brunton had a huge weekend as the Kenora ‘AAA’ Thistles Midget Hockey team gained 3 out of a possible 4 points in Thompson, Manitoba.
Brunton recorded 5-goals and 2-assists in two games as the Thistles defeated the Norman North Stars 10-1, before dropping a 5-4 shootout decision on Saturday.
Ben Hackl had 1-goal and 3-assists, while former Paperkings teammate Dylan Winsor had a goal and an assist.
Dryden’s Nathan Kiddie and Adam West both picked up an assist.
Kenora returns to the ice Wednesday night against the Winnipeg Thrashers.
