A private member’s bill has been re-introduced in Queen’s Park by the MPP for Kenora-Rainy River.
Sarah Campbell’s bill looks to protect consumers from private electricity retailers.
Campbell says many people are pressured to sign on the dotted line to keep their hydro prices stable.
Campbell notes the contracts don’t cover increases in delivery, adjustments and non-energy charges.
That means consumers will end up paying more in the long run according to the NDP member.
This is the second time the bill has been introduced after being killed on the order during last year’s spring election.
She is already getting vocal support from some PC MPP’s.
