Apparently it IS easy being green.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says its seen a 3-percent reduction in its energy costs in the past year due to a number of different conservation programs.
Facilities Manager Kim Carlson says by doing simple things like upgrading the lighting system, they have been able to save money.
Carlson says the Public School Board is on the cutting edge in implementing green technology, and they are being recognized not only in Ontario but across Canada.
