its official! a new school will be built in dryden.
the keewatin-patricia district school board approved a plan yesterday
to close wabigoon, pinewood and riverview and build a new facility on
the riverview site.
trustee barb gauthier says the option was the best one for area kids.

ed arnold was the only one to vote against the move stating the board
didn’t take into account public input.

wabigoon school will close at the end of this school year and
students will be transferred to riverview, while pinewood will close its
doors at the end of the 2009 school year.
the board also approved a plan to permanelty close the vacant oxdrift
school.
