School Closure Study

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has identified Oxdrift,
Pinewood and Wabigoon Schools for study for potential closure in the
2006-2007 year.
The Oxdrift study may not be needed as several parents have already
committed to other schools because of low enrollment.
Chief Financial Officer Dean Carrie says a new long-term capital plan has been approved and
before closing a facility, trustees will look at its value to the community, the economy, the school
system and students.
Some Kenora schools will be up for review in the 2007-2008 year.
