The Northern Ontario School of Medicine is pleased with a recent
student placement program.
15-nursing and medical students were involved in placements in Deer
Lake, Kenora, Kingfisher Lake, Moose Factory and Muskrat Dam.
Students found that technology in the communities was not a barrier
and the school is on the right track in getting communities involved in the
process.
Officials add the placements are helping students understand cultural
sensitivity and social welfare in Northern communities.
