School Re-Named In Honor Of Chanie Wenjack

The Oshki-Pinache-O-Win Education and Training Institute is being rebranded.

They are renaming themselves in memory of Chanie “Charlie” Wenjack who died during his time at the Ceclia Jaffray residential school in Kenora.

The Nishnawbe Aski Nation decided to have the institute rebranded back in October of 2016 to mark the 50th anniversary of his tragic death.

The new name reads as Oshki-Pimache-O-Win The Wenjack Education Institute.
