Schools Honoured For Environmental Practices

Five schools in the Keewatin Patricia School District are being recognised for their commitment to the environment.
New Prospect and Open Roads Public School in Dryden made the list for their efforts.
The schools are graded on energy conservation, waste minimization, ecological literacy and school ground greening.
Each year, the school must submit an application that proves they are being earth friendly.
Kathy Boone is an Enviromental Education teacher and she says the goal is to have students carry over their work to the community.
Other schools that made the list were Crolancia Public School in Pickle Lake, Golden Learning Center in Balmertown and Lakewood Public School in Kenora.
