Schools Will Remain Open With Strike

The Northwest Catholic and the Keewatin-Patricia District School
Board stress schools will be open and transportation services will be
provided if CUPE Members hit the picket line at midnight tonight.
A standoff between the Union and the Province over pension plans
could force an illegal strike.
The walkout would impact custodial and maintenance staff with both
Boards and educational assistants and secretaries with the Catholic Board.
Officials stress all classrooms will be operational and any labour
disruption will be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
