Secondary Teachers Welcome Deal

The President of the Local Secondary Teachers Bargaining Unit is
hopeful that a deal presented by the Province will help speed contract talks
along.
The Government is offering School Boards a $750-million, 4-year
deal to cover salary increases.
Dave Rhind says the framework clarifies some non-monetary issues and
funding and he believes it will in contract talks.
In return for the money, the Liberals want Ontario Boards to reach a
new contract with High School teachers by June 1st.
Talks between the Public School Board and Secondary Teachers are expected to resume later this month.
