Selfie Leads To Drug Charges In Winnipeg

Yet another good reason why you shouldn’t take a selfie while driving.

Winnipeg Police say they pulled over a vehicle early Tuesday morning after they noticed a driver holding a cell phone in both hands taking a picture of himself while travelling down Portage Avenue.

Officers say during the traffic stop they noticed a bag of what looked like crystal meth inside the vehicle.

The 38-year-old man was arrested and a number of item were seized, including about $16,000 of meth, $46,000 of cocaine, $1,500 worth of heroin and 229 Xanax pills.

There was also over $22,000 in cash, two mobile phones and a digital scale.

Randy Billy Bastien faces a long list of charges including four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.
