Service Canada centres across northwestern Ontario are closed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Service across the nation will now be done over the phone.
That includes personalized service support for E-I and pensions applications.
The government says the move will allow more Canadians to get the support they need, while better protecting both the public and their staff.
The Liberals say the closure of individual offices shouldn’t affect most unemployed workers who seek employment insurance benefits since the vast majority of applications are done online.
