‘People For Education’ is out with a report on the need for more counsellors in area schools.
The report shows the important role counsellors play, but identifies a severe shortage in northwestern Ontario.
Spokesperson David Cameron says one of the problems is the funding formula for counsellors is ruled by school boards.
Cameron recommends a number of changes including improving elementary school funding for guidance counsellors.
