Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all parts of northwestern Ontario.

The advisory covers a large area from Sandy Lake, south to the Minnesota border and east to Lake Nipigon.

Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy/torrential rain.

The storm is expected to develop along a cold front moving in from Manitoba Sunday afternoon and into the evening.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
