A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for most of the region.
Environment Canada says thunderstorms are expected to develop along a cold front near the Manitoba boundary late this afternoon.
The storm has the potential of bringing large hail, strong and damaging wind as well as heavy rain.
